OUTREACH AT SCHOOLS
The WBO is dedicated to sharing music with audiences of all ages!

Michael Pordesimo is our Outreach Director. Through our partnership with Community Resources Inc., we have presented over forty musical events at elementary schools in Denver and Jefferson County. In-person events are our favorite, but we have found ways to create interactive events via Zoom or Google Meet when it's necessary!

In the 2023-24 season, we are bringing three programs to the schools:
• Songs from Around the World
• Music and Nature
• La música y tú
Each program is available as a 30-minute, 45-minute, or 60-minute session. We can adjust the selection of songs and activities to suit any grade, K-12. We bring a vocalist and 2-3 instrumentalists to each event. The repertoire is a dynamic mix of pop songs, world music, kid songs, and movie themes. Our program is aligned with Colorado State Standards. Students will:

LISTEN to inspiring performances
LEARN how music connects with other topics
JOIN in musical games
and maybe even DANCE!

HALLOWEEN
The WBO loves to perform at Halloween festivals - so far, we've played Belmar (Lakewood), Lowry Town Center (Denver), and Stanley Marketplace (Aurora). For the "Addams Family" Theme, we invite kids to take the podium and conduct the orchestra!
